"ससार की प्रत्येक वस्तु का अपना एक धर्म होता है। पानी का भी एक धर्म है – शीतलता देना, तृप्ति देना, गीला करना। अगर पानी अपने गुण को छोड़ दे तो फिर पानी का अस्तित्व नहीं बचता। मनुष्य भी जब अपने धर्म में स्थिर रहता है, मानवीय गुणों से युक्त रहता है तभी वह मनुष्य कहलाता है। यदि मनुष्य मानवीय गुणों को छोड़ देता है तो फिर वह मनुष्य नहीं पशु है, तब वह दानव कहलाता है। शास्त्र में कहा गया है कि अपनी आत्मा के विपरीत व्यवहार किसी के साथ न करें । जो व्यवहार अपने प्रति आपको पसन्द है, वही व्यवहार दूसरों के साथ करें, इसी का नाम धर्म है।"

Every thing in this world has its own attributes or properties. For example, water's attributes include: to give coolness, to quench thirst and to wet. If water's attributes cease to exist, water will not exist. Similarly, a human being is only a human being if endowed with human qualities and the ability to have faith and be religious. If these human qualities cease to exist then he can't be a human being but instead an animal or a demon. Our scriptures say that one should not behave in opposition of one's soul's attributes with anyone. The essence of religion is that however you would like others to behave with you is how you should behave with others.
